Pune: Aarohi Sangeet Academy has organised 3rd Aarohi Sangeet Mahotsav which will be held on 17th &18th June at 5 p.m. at Dr. Shyamrao Kalmadi Auditorium, Prabhat Road. It is the 3rd edition of the festival,which is conceptualised and organised by Vocalist of Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana, Sampada Vipat.
Well acclaimed artists of Indian classical music, Pt. Suresh Talvalkar, Pt. Vikas Kashalkar, Slide Guitarist Amano Manish, Pt.Devashish De, Pt.Sudhakar Chavhan and grandson of late Pt. Bhimsen Joshi,Viraj Joshi have participated in the festival.
As per the tradition, the mahotsav will be inaugurated with the traditional lamp lightening. This year, the Mahotsav will commence with Vocals by Sampada Vipat of Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. This will be followed up by Tabla Performance by Pt. Samar Saha of Kolkata. He will be interviewed by Pt. Umesh Moghe just after his performance. First day of the festival will be closed with Vocals by Pt. Sanjay Garud (Kirana Gharana).
The second day of the festival will feature performances of Mayur Kolekar (Vocals), Mrinal Upadhyay (Pakhawaj), Pandita Alpana Roy of Patiyala Gharana (Vocals) and the festival will be ended with Vocals by Pt. Sudhakar Devale of Ujjain. All the artists will be accompanied by Avinash Dighe, Shravankumar Potdar and Prakash Behere on Harmonium and Pt. Amitanand Roy, Pt. Subhash Kantidas and Aniruddha Deshpande on Tabla. The festival will be hosted by Vikas Dingrajkar. The entry for the festival is free and on the first come first serve basis.
