Mumbai: While she flaunts the tiara of fame & popularity, music and performing arts run in her family. Granddaughter of veteran musician OP Nayyar, Niharica Raizada (Miss India Worldwide 2011) decided to pursue acting, her choice seemed obvious to many. For Niharica (a doctor & scientist by qualification), it was a giant leap of faith to quit medicine and pursue her tinsel town dreams.
She’s every girl’s envy and aspiration on the fashion & acting forefront, Niharica Raizada an avid believer of “Quality over Quantity” gears up for her upcoming release “Warrior Savitri”.
Holding a penchant for acting, Niharica Raizada started her journey at a tender age with a vision to entertain people with her acting abilities. On her journey to pursue her dreams, Niharica Raizada has marked her excellence in regional films like: – Bengali romantic comedy Damadol with an item number, Gujrati films; Fashion & Modeling; Print ads etc.
Blame her appealing looks, the upfront ambitious actress has triumphed upon the hearts of millions with her acting abilities in films like: – Baby, Masaan, Alone & 6-5=2
Insisting that her foray into the world of performing arts was not a flash-in-the-pan decision, the doctor-turned-artiste says that it’s her passion & love for the craft of acting which is the prime factor that attracts her to be a part of Bollywood
Niharica Raizada says “I want to have a very strong voice of my own in the entertainment business. This means if Niharica Raizada does a film, it has to be worth watching. I want people to say: “there goes the girl with no godfather who established herself as one of the leading voices in today’s world of film and fashion, it is her wit and charisma that got her there”. I have faith that one day people will say this about me. I believe in myself more than anyone else does. My hardwork (and smart work) and my lucky charm will put me out there, I will peak, I am sure of it”
With Luxembourg as her place of birth, French as her mother-tongue and acting training from the New York Film Academy, Niharica represents a coming together of the East and the West, but for the actress, her Indian roots count the most. “As someone from a film family, I have known the industry for a very long time. Young talent like us combines tradition with modern ideas to bring something new to the table and people must support us.”
