Arthritis is a growing problem in our country. The term ‘Arthritis means inflammation of the joints and can affect one joint or multiple joints. Common Arthritis symptoms include pain, joint inflammation, stiffness and swelling. Arthritis leads to disability and is a commonly misunderstood disease. People of all ages, sexes can and do have arthritis but it is most common among women and occurs more frequently as people get older. But now a days lifestyle changes, irregular eating habits, obesity and lack of exercise are some of the leading causes of Arthritis.
Keeping in mind the significance of this disease and dedicated to serve all people with arthritis, Lokmanya Hospital organized a World Arthritis Week Programme at Mitra Mandal Chowk. Various free check-ups like ‘Bone Mineral Density, Mobile OPD and primary consultation were provided to the patients.
The programme received an overwhelming response and 96 patients got benefitted from these check-ups.
