Pune, 7 February, 2017: Bank of Maharashtra, one of India’s oldest public sector banks, convened the 31st Maharashtra State Level Bankers’ Committee meeting in Pune. Shri R. P. Marathe, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra, presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by eminent people from the Government of India including Mr. Nagendra Singh, Director, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi and Dr. Suneeta Yadav, Deputy Director, Ministry of Home Affairs. Shri R. K. Gupta, Executive Director, Shri Manoj Biswal, General Manager (HRM & Rajbhasha) and Dr. Rajendra Shrivastava, Assistant General Manager (Rajbhasha) of Bank of Maharashtra were present along with top level executives/ Hindi officers of all the public sector banks.
Shri R.P. Marathe addressed the meeting, initiating a discussion on how Maharashtra State has always been a pioneer in the implementation of Hindi language in the offices, and highlighted that Hindi and regional languages are the best options for customer service. He also discussed about the opportunities and challenges for the banks in the current economic situation.
On this occasion, Bank of Maharashtra’s Online Rajbhasha Glossary ‘Rajbhasha Kosh’ and Online Hindi Roster were inaugurated at the hands of Shri Nagendra Singh and Shri R. P. Marathe respectively. Rajbhasha Shield and memento were presented to the members for better implementation of Hindi in their offices.
