As a new initiative towards providing EASE OF DOING BUSINESS and to facilitate Exports from newly set up Air Cargo Complex at Pune International Airport. The OFFICE OF DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS at Air Cargo Complex was inaugurated on 13.09.2017 by Shri A.K. Pandey, IRS, Chief Comrnissioncr of Custorns and GST. Senior officers from Customs, GST, Airport Authority of India, Foreign trade & other Government agencies and Representative of Trade bodies like Maratha Chambers, Dcccan Chambers etc.. were present.
The International Air cargo Complex was a long awaited demand from Exporters of perishable commodities like cut flowers, vegetables and fruit to the Middle East and Exporters of Machinery and spare parts and components to Europe. These commodities 0/060 0301100 being exported from Air Cargo Complex, Sahar, Mumbai which incurred lot of time and cost.
Al present four international flights would cater for such 009001100 10 Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Frankfun. The Air Cargo Complex has facility to handle 4 tonnes of cargo per day with cargo scanners, EDI connectivity and modem amenities. Customs operations are manned by a dedicated team of officers headed by a Deputy Commissioner. Presently only exports are allowed from this facility’, the imports will follow soon.
Various trade bodies like ‘,porters associations and Maratha Chamber of Commerce have hailed the initiative. The inauguration event was followed by Customs Coordination and facilitation Committee meeting participated by Foreign trade, Food Safety and other Central Govt.Officers, Customs Broker Association and various trade bodies etc. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Commissioner of Customs, Pune.
