Pune: BookASmile (BAS), the charity initiative of India’s largest online entertainment ticketing platform BookMyShow, in collaboration with Round Table India(RTI) today- Saturday, August 12, organized pan-India screenings of the movie Toilet- Ek Prem Katha for 13,626 kids from lesser fortunate background.
Building toilets is one of the focal points of improving our country’s sanitation standards. The motive to showcase this movie was to inculcate right hygiene habits in kids. RTI also shares the vision our Prime Minister, ‘To make India open Defecation Free.’
” “We are delighted to work with BookASmile for this initiative. The screenings were immensely successful and has helped create more awareness regarding the sanitation issues in our country. We are looking forward to associate with many such causes that will bring hygiene awareness to our society, ” says Christopher Aravinth, President, Round Table India.
Farzana Cama Balpande, Head- BookASmile said, “Movies can be a huge source of inspiration and play a huge role in creating awareness regarding critical issues. With the same intention, we decided to take over 16000 children for Toilet- Ek Prem Katha. Out of these, Round Table India (RTI) alone helped us mobilise 13,626 less fortunate children. While the screenings acted as a perfect day outing and mode of enjoyment, we more importantly hope that through our joint efforts, we were able to create a positive long lasting impression on children.”
