The award-winning Castello di Casole – A Timbers Resort, has reopened for the 2015 season under the helm of new general manager Federico Galligani.
Since opening in July 2012, the property has set a new level of luxury in the travel market.
This year, guests can anticipate the standard of service they’ve come to expect at Castello di Casole as well as a variety of new family, spa and culinary experiences throughout the year.
Set in over 88 acres of vineyards and 13 acres of olive groves this historic 4,200-acre estate is quintessentially Tuscan, from its traditional Tuscan fare to the 28 artfully reconstructed Tuscan farmhouses dotted around the property.
The 41-suite boutique hotel offers guests rustic elegance in spectacular settings, a designated model game reserve, along with a journey into the region’s gastronomy.
Headed up by acclaimed chef Daniele Sera, the estate boasts fine-dining venue Ristorante Tosca which serves a range of local, Tuscan and Italian cuisine with an emphasis on homemade pasta, using fresh local produce from the hotel’s gardens and extra virgin olive oil produced on the estate.
Guests can enjoy pizza-making classes at the gourmet trattoria Pazzia which features a traditional wood burning pizza oven, an espresso bar and gelateria – ideal for enjoying quintessential Italian cuisine in an informal setting, as well as a bottle of the estate’s private label wine, ‘C’.
Located in the former wine cellar, the Hotel’s spa Essere opened in July 2013 and features seven treatment rooms with vaulted ceilings, restored stone walls and cork penny tiles made from locally recycled wine corks, as well as pools inspired by ancient Roman baths.
Its outdoor spa garden, ideal for yoga and pilates classes, emanates the tranquillity of Tuscan living.
All spa treatments are inspired by natural products indigenous to Tuscany – such as olive oil, rosemary, grape seeds and skins.
The Castello di Casole estate is home to 28 artfully restored and reconstructed luxury Casali farmhouses, available for fractional and full-ownership.
It is conveniently located 20 kilometres from Siena and 45 minutes drive from Florence and is also within easy reach of Tuscany’s best-kept medieval towns including Volterra and San Gimignano, as well as the famous Chianti and Montalcino wine regions.
