Pune: Credit Suisse announced today that it has moved into a new facility in Pune, India in the EON special economic zone to support the growth of the bank’s operations globally.
The new campus offers 337,628 square footage of space, with the capacity to house approximately 3,300 staff and the option to expand over time. Credit Suisse plans to invest additional resources into the facility in the future.
The building is the first “smart working” facility for the bank in India and is the largest “smart working” facility for Credit Suisse globally. The “smart working” initiative is a global strategic initiative at Credit Suisse focused on how best to utilize technology and space to address changing work patterns and workplace preferences while offering increased flexibility to employees.
Credit Suisse first established its presence in Pune in 2006, and it now employs more than 2,600 staff providing financial accounting, technology and investment banking operations support to the bank in more than 50 countries around the globe. Its original site occupied 276,861 square feet of space and the new facility represents a substantial expansion. As the bank has continued to expand significantly in India, a new facility was needed to accommodate and support the growth of the bank’s operations in Pune.
The new site offers employees a state-of-the-art facility, complete with dedicated training rooms and breakout areas, as well as an innovative work space that will facilitate greater collaboration and ultimately support employee retention and talent acquisition for Credit Suisse in India.
Mihir Doshi, Chief Executive Officer for India commented, “Credit Suisse is highly committed to India, and our Centers of Excellence play an integral role in the growth and success of our business. The new site in Pune further expands our presence and demonstrates our focus on investing in and growing our franchise and footprint in India.”
