Pune: “Design Showcase” showcasing degree project work and portfolios of the graduating students of the fourth year, batch 2012-2016, from 28th to 30th April, 2016. The Design Showcase is a platform given for the graduating students to exhibit their past best works during their four year’s stint at Symbiosis Institute of Design.
The Fashion Show, scheduled for the 29th of April, was a culmination of the efforts of the Fashion faculty and by the graduating students of B.Des. Fashion Design batch 2012-2016, wherein the graduation students launched their first collection in the presence of fashion experts and industry people.
The Jury Panel had some of the most renowned designers from the industry including Ms Nida Mahmood, hailed as the Queen of Indian Kitsch by the media. She is a self-taught artist and trained designer. She was Awarded the “Most Creative Design Collection” in 2002. Also, Ms Nivedita Saboo who is a fashion designer of national and international acclaim, a Gold medalist from NIFT, From showcasing at fashion weeks at London, Paris & Hong Kong, Conferred the “Best Woman Entrepreneur” award and Mr Ajay Kumar who is a fashion graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology and winner of the Award for the ‘Most Practical Menswear Collection’. He launched his own label at Lakme Fashion Week Gen Next platform in August, 2015.
After going through all the collections the Jury announced the result as follows
