Pune: The Pune branch of WIRC of ICAI along with the Pune branch of WICASA of ICAI today inaugurated its two day international conference for CA students which was organized by the Board of Studies , ICAI and hosted by the Pune Branch of WIRC of ICAI and WICASA which began today and witnessed a footfall of over 2500 CA students. The conference will conclude on Sunday 14th Jan 2018.
Present at the occasion was Hon’ble HRD Union minister Praskash Javadekar who delivered the keynote speech. He said “It is a pleasure to be invited as the Chief Guest for this event. Being a Commerce graduate myself and having a son who is a CA by profession, this particular course holds a special place for me. I believe this profession can play a vital role in making India corruption free. Modern curriculum and revised syllabus is necessary and should be practiced in every university so that the students are up to date with the current scenario in the field of specialisation”.
Also present at the occasion were other dignitaries like CA. Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey (President, ICAI), CA. Atul Kumar Gupta (Chairman, Board of Studies, ICAI), CA. Mangesh P. Kinare (Vice Chairman, board of Studies ICAI), CA. Shiwaji Bhikaji Zaware (Central Council Member, ICAI).
CA. Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey (President, ICAI) said,”It gives me immense pleasure to welcome the Guests at this conference and am personally grateful to Hon Minister Prakash Javadekar HRD Union Minister to grace this occasion and spare time from his busy schedule. He also touched upon the points that India is one of the countries with the largest number of chartered accountants across the world and ICAI is technically amongst one of the largest associations to have chartered accountants almost more than 2,70,000 globally.”
Students not just from India but also from other countries took part in this International conference. This International Conference was a boon for many CA students and was a great learning opportunity for them as it covered all the topics of the fraternity. Several topics such as Taxation, Accountancy and Finance, How to crack CA examinations, Corporate Laws, Auditing Standards and Ethics, etc were covered during the conference. The event helped the students develop networking and allied skills for the students.
