Pune: The ICAI Pune WICASA (Western Indian Chartered Accountants Students Association ) chapter In association with Kolte Patil Developers Ltd initiated a ‘Fruit Seed Plantation’ campaign today which involved the participation of around 555 CA students from Pune, Mumbai and Latur along with CA members. The individuals planted 99, 999 fruit seeds in just 5 hours at ARAI and Vetal Hills,Starting from Team JBar Point, Bhamburda Forest, Pune.
The campaign was spearheaded by CA Rajesh Agrawal ,Chairman ,Pune Branch of WICASA of ICAI along with others and he said “I am delighted that the Pune ICAI has taken up such a wonderful initiative and to see Pune citizens contribute wholeheartedly towards this project has been a great support system!” The initiative aims at increasing awareness of tree plantation in order to conserve and preserve the environment which is facing adverse effects of modern lifestyle.
The campaign witnessed the participation of all age groups- right from the young ones to senior citizens. Further, ICAI Pune WICASA aspire to declare it as a “World Fruit Seed Plantation Day” and have also applied for Limca Book of Records; so that many more cities will follow in our footsteps.
