The Product Innovation Award from hotelforum was presented to the hotel software company hetras, Munich, this year. hetras had developed the hotel management system for Vienna’s Hotel Schani as part of the Fraunhofer IAO FutureHotel project.
Michael Widmann, hotel property expert and co-organizer of hotelforum, expressed his appreciation of the “integrated online booking system” with smartphone-controlled access to the room and individual selection of rooms according to categories and floors. He substantiated the decision of the jury of 16 interdisciplinary experts with the fact that the innovation award should honor a “coherent concept that works without a key card”. Michael Widmann called the streamlining of process a “revolution in the hotel industry”.
As hetras technology removes many of the organizational tasks from Schani employees, they now have the freedom to anticipate the hotel guests’ every wish, give tips on where to go out or events and therefore dedicate themselves to the guest in a totally new way.
“We are really delighted that our commitment to innovative guest processes in the hotel industry has been recognized by this first-class jury of hotel experts,” says Philip von Ditfurth, one of the hetras managing directors. “hetras developed the hotel management system for the hotel industry worldwide in order to be able to provide any interested hotel groups and hotels with the mobile guest journey and individual room selection in particular. This revolutionary technology was tested in a live setting for the first time with the Hotel Schani in Vienna as part of the Fraunhofer FutureHotel project and can now be offered to all current and future hetras customers.”
It is important for the hotel industry to meet the requirements of new target groups. Thanks to completely mobile travel arrangements, hetras is meeting the needs of a generation of guests that is used to organizing their life and in particular their travel on their smartphone or tablet.
Von Ditfurth confirms: “We see this award as motivation to be totally committed to designing processes even more conveniently and efficiently for hoteliers and guests in future too.”
