Pune: The Indian Association of Teachers of French West Zone (Pune) and its official partners, Fergusson College and the Alliance Française de Poona are coming together to organise the semi-finals of the Idole Indienne 2015, a singing competition to be held in Pune on the 24th of October 2015 at the Kundanlal Firodiya Hall. The participants will be students of French from colleges and different institutes in the city and suburbs. It was first launched in 2006 and now is in its fourth season.
This year, the competition will be judged by a panel of three judges, Madame Anne-Marie Thuillier, Director of the Alliance Française, Monsieur Arnaud Devic, President of the Poona Music Society and Madame Madhuri Purandare, noted writer, singer and theatre personality. The prizes for the Semi-finals are sponsored by the Alliance Française: the first prize is a course at the Alliance. The winners of the Semi Finals in Pune will be sent to Bangalore for the finals to be held on the 21st of November, and the champion at the national level will get a ticket to France.
Over the years it has been found that this competition enhances interest and encourages students to go further in their study of French. Besides the atmosphere of fun and laughter brings about a real sense of camaraderie amongst the participants and teachers alike!
