Indian American community in New Jersey has celebrated 3rd year anniversary of BJP lead NDA government headed by honorable prime minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in a grand scale at the local TV Asia Studio premises, Edison, New Jersey. Hundreds of Indian Diaspora including men, women, and children attended the event that was organized by the “Overseas Friends of BJP” (OFBJP) – USA.
The program was started with traditional lamp lighting ceremony by OFBJP office bearers and other community leaders offering tributes to the party founders and Mother India. While addressing the gathering, OFBJP President, Mr. Krishna Reddy Anugula, highlighted Modi government’s achievements and explained the difference in working cultures of the current Modi government and previous governments. He also elaborated on how and why BJP became the largest political party in the world.
Several other speakers spoke on various subjects. Mr. Deep Bhatt, youth co-convener, elaborated on various Modi governments’ initiatives on youth and employment generation for the last 3 years; Mrs. Kalpana Shukla, National Council member, spoke on Modi governments’ initiatives related to women empowerment and detailed out the distribution of subsidized gas cylinders to the poor and how people voluntarily gave-up the subsidies when they could afford. Various economic development initiatives such as demonetization, progress on curbing black money, and economic growth during Modi government was illustrated by New Jersey youth coordinator, Mr. Partiban Vardhan .
Mr. Gunjan Mishra talked on recently rolled out historic GST, One Nation-One Tax and its benefits and explained how this big bang reform will help India in long run in creating India as one market while removing redundant taxes. Media co-convener, Mr. Digamber Eslampure described Modi government’s defense policy and major reforms such as 49% FDI through direct route, 100% FDI through government approval. He also explained One Rank One Pension (OROP), and various big defense deals inked by Modi government to protect India‘s strategic interests. OFBJP national General Secretary, Mrs. Nilima Madan, explained how useful and important are Modi’s foreign visits for enhancing diplomatic relations with key countries in the world. She talked on achievements of these foreign trips and their long term strategic importance for the country in forging and strengthening the relationships across the world. National youth co–convener Mr.Vials Reddy Jambula explained Modi government’s vison and achievements in the rural development sector. He outlined how Modi government is building roads in rural areas, almost more than the double rate compared to previous UPA government. Later, Mrs. Seema Saboo entertained the audience with wonderful patriotic songs.
Several prominent leaders including Past President Mr. Jayesh Patel, National Council member Mr. Bala Guru, New Jersey Coordinator Mr. Aravind Patel, Philadelphia Coordinator , Dr. Sanjay Gupta, New Jersey Co-Coordinators Mr. Anand Jain, Other conveners and co-conveners including Mr. Pramod Bhagat, Mr. Harry Sethi, Mr. Pradeep Reddy, Mr. Amar Goswami, Mr. Himanshu Desia have attended. Additionally prominent leaders like the Chairman of TV Asia Mr. HR Shah, Mr. Nimesh Dixit, and Mr. Ganesh Ramkrishnan have graced the occasion.
