IFCCI announces the launch of its representation in Pune
Pune 9th April 2017: The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) announced the launch of its presence in Pune. IFCCI is one of the most active bilateral chambers of commerce in India and is focused on fostering trade relations between India and France. The launch in Pune was inaugurated by H. E. Mr Alexander Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, Mr Arun Firodia, was the Keynote speaker, along with Mr. Pierre Behnam, President, IFCCI & Ms. Payal S Kanwar, Secretary General, IFCCI. The event was attended by top CEO’s of 30+ French companies (CCEF) and 40+ IFCCI members across different sectors.
The chamber appointed Mr. Ravin Mirchandani as its Honorary Representative for Pune. Mr Mirchandani is currently the Chairman of Ador Powertron and is a well-known personality within the Indian and French network in the country, having previously been head of a number of French companies in India.
The Indo French Chamber of Commerce and Industry is celebrating its 40th year in 2017 and has grown recently establishing new chapters and representations in Bangalore and Chandigarh, besides the existing base of Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
Mr. Mirchandani said, “Pune is the second largest city(in terms of area) in Maharashtra after Mumbai. It is highly-industrialized and very interesting for many startups and large international and local companies. Pune is also known for its education and research institutes and is an established IT hub. It is one of the most developed cities in India and is a great contributor to India’s economic success. With this in mind, IFCCI intends to tap and promote opportunities for the French and Indian organizations to build a stronger bilateral relation through our network”.
Mr. Pierre Behnam, President quoted “Pune is undoubtedly among the best cities of India and also, the epitome of Maharashtra. It has become the cultural capital as well as a very important center of education and industry. It has the right blend of a metropolis which makes it a popular choice for IFCCI and other leading organizations across sectors from all over the country to invest in Pune”
