Pune: Confederation of Indian Industry organized the 4th Edition of Green Conclave 2017 in Pune highlighting the need to follow sustainable practices and green trends by the industries in the region. The conference was also supported by Maharashtra Energy Development Authority.
Speaking at the Inaugural Session Mr Nitin Chalke, Chairman CII Pune Zone stressed on the importance of regular interaction and awareness sessions focusing on green initiatives as there are many new technologies that are available today. The 4th edition was organized with focus on creating a green ecosystem, enhancing energy efficient systems and trends and solutions for waste management systems, he added.
Other speakers at the inaugural session included Mr Shrikant Bapat, Convenor, Energy, Environment and Sustainability Panel and Managing Director, Johnson Controls (India) Pvt Ltd; Mr S Srinivas, Deputy Executive Director, CII – Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre and Mr J P Shroff, Chairman – IGBC Pune Chapter, CII-Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre who spoke about increasing need of industry to follow green practices, while also highlighting the new business models that are emerging in sectors like waste management and energy.
The one day conclave focused on best practices of leading Indian companies and how industry could adopt these practices for a greener tomorrow, while being more energy efficient in operations. The speakers highlighted on the practices and broad perspectives that are required to lead their organizations through the global energy landscape of today and tomorrow through various focused presentation. The conference included more than 20 speakers including experts from leading companies, Pune Municipal corporation and Maharashtra Energy Development Authority
An IGBC-Green Building Footprint Map was also released during the conclave which is the 1st of its kind in Pune covering a detailed map on IGBC Rated Green Buildings in Pune. The Conclave also included presentations on Green Initiative by highlighting the best Kaizen Stories from Tata Motors Ltd, Technorbital Advanced Materials Pvt. Ltd., Godrej Electricals & Electronics, Energos Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Vishay Components India Pvt. Ltd. Over 100 people participated in the Conclave and interacted with the experts.
