After great starts both Inter and Roma enter this game in their worst form of the season. Inter have failed to win any of their last five games in Serie A and seven overall managing to score just two goals across those five games and the points dropped have almost their title hopes. Roma on other side have not won in three games and both teams have fallen behind Juventus and Napoli at the top of the table. Not only that, hey have also fallen behind city rivals Lazio and will need to rediscover their potency in attack as only four goals have been netted in their last four games.
Off late Inter has been rusty at home too and it will be a matter of concern for Nerazzurris as the goal scoring has taken a beating failing to score in any of their last three games at the San Siro. The team will be looking to get back in their winning ways and this game could set a strong precedent for the second half of their seasons if they intend to win the title at all.
Attack speed is hugely important in soccer and how often the two sides can launch threatening counter attacks always has a big impact on the game. Both Inter Milan and Roma usually dominate games, averaging 54.2% and 57% of possession respectively. They score most of their goals from normal paced attacks where they have retained possession of the ball for a period of time and build up the move. Both teams are not fond of playing counter attacking football but the one which does will steal the show.
o Roma have scored 2 goals in 13 shots from counter attacks. They do not often have the opportunity to break at pace but when they do they are deadly. In a big away game like this they will hope to have more chances to counter-attack than usual.
o In contrast, Inter Milan have yet to score from a counter attack this season instead they conceded three goals from 23 shots. This suggests a potential weakness that Roma will be eager to exploit.
