Mumbai: Ashish Kumar Rai, General Manager, The Westin Mumbai Garden City and Nicholas Ord, Brand Ambassador, Diageo – Reserve hosted an exclusive evening of food and whisky pairing on 11th June, 2016 to launch the start of Chef Angad Rai’s journey at Kangan.
Kangan, our signature fine dining restaurant offering authentic Indian cuisine set in contemporary surroundings is renowned for northwest-frontier cuisine. Angad Rai, recently on board with Kangan as Chef de cuisine brings to the Kangan kitchen his expertise in the North-West Frontier fare and adds to the menu his specialities in Awadhi and Mughlai fare. The enhanced menu will be launched for diners starting 12th June, 2016. Along with the bestsellers of Kangan like Dal Kangan, Kakori Kebab and Nalli Nihari, the enhanced menu will have Angad’s signature dishes like Kashmiri Seb Sabzi, Habibiya Gosht , Taar Korma amongst many others.
The evening with Blue Label was an exquisite blend of select dishes from the enhanced menu paired with Diageo’s reserve brand portfolio. The invitee list enjoying the evening saw a mix of socialites, corporate and food experts and included Miss Malini, Rij Eapen, Anil Kably (The Bagel Shop), Kadambari Lakhani, Sunaina Shetty (Sommelier) and Colston Julian (Fashion Photographer). Nicholas Ord took the guests through the pairing and guests were seen enjoying a range of appetizers like Kakori Seekh and Nadru Shikhampuri with Johnnie Walker Gold Label, a variety of mains like Taar Korma and Dal Kangan with Johnnie Walker Double Black Label, two styles of fragrant Biryani with Johnnie Walker Platinum 18 Label and select Kangan desserts with Johnnie Walker Blue Label Digestif.
The Kangan team now looks forward to welcoming all guests to experience this delectable journey of Indian Cuisine.
