Pune: Safe Water Point is a public welfare initiative of the Supremus Group to provide potable drinking water of WHO standards to communities at public places like Bus Stations, Railway stations, Toll Plazas, Village Panchayats, Schools and places of worship across India. Today, a Safe Water Point was inaugurated at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Secondary & Senior Secondary School, Yerwada at the hands of Smt. Meenakshi Raut, Education officer, PMC in the presence of students.
The Government of India has included safe drinking water for every citizen of India as its mission. This initiative has received tremendous support not only from State administrative departments, Panchayats and Rural Development schemes but also through massive allocation of CSR funds by the private sector and MNCs.
The system is reliant on lean & green principal and requires minimal maintenance on a day to day basis. It has a life span of upto 10 years and has recently been vetted by a High Level Technical Committee under the Chairmanship of Padma Vibhushan Prof. R.A. Mashelkar constituted by Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation and included in the Compendium of Technologies prepared by the Ministry to help meet their targets under Swachh Bharat, which is PM Modi’s pet initiative.
During the National Rural Drinking Water & Sanitation Awareness week, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. have supported the development of four community level safe drinking water points for the benefit of the citizens of Pune at the following locations:
Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages (P) Ltd has supported the installation of Safe Water Points at all the four locations that have been set up using the unique stand alone “Supremus Aqua” water treatment system based on ultra-filtration technology. This technology can treat water without use of electricity or chemicals thus being able to deliver safe drinking water on 24 X 7 X 365 basis. Above all, this system does not waste any precious water during the purification process which is its most unique advantage.
Safe Water Point were dedicated to children and public at large during the concluding ceremony of Water Week at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Senior Secondary School where students participated in an essay and drawing competition on World Water Day. Smt. Meenakshi Raut distributed the certificates and prizes to the students.
Hindustan Coca Beverages (P) Ltd also informed that the company has tied up with Supremus Group to set up Safe Water Points all over India.
