Mumbai, 11th January 2017: Ms. Ashrafi Matcheswala has been appointed as General Manager at Vivanta by Taj- President, Mumbai effective 07th December, 2016. She joins the Vivanta’s flagship hotel after completing a 6-year stint as General Manager at Taj Campton Place, San Francisco.
In her new role at the Vivanta by Taj – President, Ms. Ashrafi’s responsibilities would entail overlooking the hotel operations under the guidance of Mr. Taljinder Singh, Area Director – Mumbai Hotels & General Manager – The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.
Ms. Ashrafi embarked on her journey with the Taj Group as a Catering Assistant in 1981 at the flagship Taj Mahal Palace and Towers and has been with the company ever since. During this association with the Taj Group, she has held numerous key positions including a stint at Vivanta by Taj- President as Food and Beverage Manager, the Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur and Taj Wellington Mews as General Manager, Mumbai before moving to San Francisco to helm Taj Campton Place.
With a career spanning over 35 years, Ms. Ashrafi has emerged as an oriented leader with excellent customer relations. She is renowned and beloved for her qualities in supporting and inspiring her team to carry out their responsibilities with passion and flair.
Her allegiance towards the Taj Group has made her an indispensable part of the Taj success story and Vivanta by Taj – President, Mumbai is honored to welcome on board the enterprising Ms. Ashrafi Matcheswala.
