New Delhi: The salaries of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s top executives have now been made public by his office under the Right to Information Act.
As per the disclosure made by the PMO, Bhaskar Khulbe, who is the Secretary to the Prime Minister Modi, is the highest paid official with a salary of around Rs. 2 lakh per month.
Principal Secretary Nripendra Misra, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Additional Principal Secretary PK Mishra all draw the same salary, Rs. 1,62,500 a month.
Interestingly, many joint secretaries get a little more at around Rs. 1.7 lakh. Tarun Bajaj is the highest paid among them with a salary of Rs. 1,77,750.
The lowest salary, around 17,000, is drawn by a member of what is classified as “multitasking staff”.
The information regarding the salaries of PM Modi’s staff was posted on the website of the PM’s Office on June 1.
The salaries of the Prime Minister’s Office were made public even when the Manmohan Singh government was in power.
“Proactive disclosures” implies that the government volunteers any information that is most sought after by citizens.
Notably, the salaries of the prime minister and ministers are also in the public domain.
