Pune: The tenth edition of wellknown Multi City Concert “Bolava Vitthal” organized by Pancham Nishad is all set to treat people with soulful devotional music yet again . The 12 city program will start from Pune on July 17 at Ganesh Kala Krida at 6.00 pm . The program is known as a festival dedicated to abhangs and allows those who cannot visit Pandharpur to listen to devotional songs sung by maestros . Jaytirth Mevundi , Rahul Deshpande and Savani Shende will enthrall the audiences in Pune .
To mark the festival’s 10th year, Pancham Nishad has produced a coffee-table book, also titled Bolava Vitthal, in which the abhangs have been handwritten in different fonts by calligrapher Achyut Palav. The book will be released in Mumbai at the music programme on 26 July.
The Stalwarts in this year’s pan-India programs include Shounak Abhisheki, Sanjeev Abhyankar, Anand Bhate, Rahul Deshpande, Shankar Mahadevan, Jayateerth Mevundi, Devaki Pandit, Savani Shende and Suresh Wadkar.
Among the new singers this year are Kolkata-based Omkar Dadarkar and Aruna Sairam, the eminent Carnatic vocalist.
Shashi Vyas , Director Pancham Nishad said that the multi city tour every year is testimony to the fact that Abhangs have a growing pan-India appeal .This festival is organized during the 21 day pilgrimage which begins from Alandi and Dehu and culminates at Pandharpur on the auspicious day of Ashadi Ekadashi this year being on 27th July .
