Mumbai (Oct 7, 2014): Cricketer Dinesh Mongia is set to make his debut with the comic caper, Kabab Mein Haddi, directed by Rabinder Parashar Kabab Me Haddi also stars popular Daler Mehndi who was last seen in Action Replayy. Interestingly Mongia, who is a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan in real life, plays a fan of the legendary star in the film too.

An excited Dinesh said, “Acting just happened to me by chance. As a cricketer while performing on the field we are used to constantly facing the camera so acting came naturally to me. My character in the film made me take up this project. My character is that of an Income Tax director, who is a huge fan of Mr Bachchan.

What else I could have asked for? I grew up watching Mr Bachchan’s films film like Deewar, Sholay and Shaan so studying and presenting his mannerisms on screen was a big responsibility. This is showed in light humour in the film.”

Cricket is my first love and I will always be known as a cricketer but at the same time if my audience accepts me as an actor, I will continue to do films too. I am looking forward to making a career in Bollywood.” Rabinder informs that Mongia was trained in acting for three months and also learned Amitabh Bachchan’s mannerisms by watching his films before starting Kabab Me Haddi. “Dinesh is a friend of mine and wanted him to get into acting. When I wrote his character, I got to know that he too is left- handed, just like Mr Bachchan. We would like to show the film to Mr Bachchan. My film is complete and we are releasing on Diwali with Happy New Year,” said Parashar.
