The Hotel in association with Hope for the Children Foundation offered training in office management to the less privileged women
Pune (16th August 2014): Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre celebrated its 3rd year anniversary in the city by joining hands with Hope for the Children Foundation in their initiative to offer office management training to less privileged women.
In support of the initiative, Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre’s Assistant Training Manager, Neha Bijoor conducted a session on soft skills and interview preparation. These ladies who had to drop out of school or could not study beyond high school due to family responsibilities were taught the importance of team work, time management and were given an insight into interview preparation. Neha also trained them on how to carry out basic clerical work, perform basic computer applications, spoken English and soft skills.
With the sole purpose of driving women empowerment, the hotel with this initiative hopes that they contribute towards development of the less privileged women by helping them earn their own livelihood. Coinciding with the 68th Independence Day of India, this initiative will help women be ‘independent’ in the truest sense.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Caroline Audoir de Valter, Managing Trustee & Founder of Hope for the Children Foundation says, “We at Hope for the Children Foundation have women empowerment at the forefront of the many initiatives that we undertake. With Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre we have found the ideal partner for our social programmes whose aim is also to give back to the society and help us in our efforts to uplift the status of these young women by making them self-sufficient. We plan to undertake many new projects that benefit Indian women in the coming years.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gagan Deep Singh, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre said, “It’s been a great three year journey for the hotel and the city has embraced us wholly. I would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to all our guests in and out of Pune city for giving us their love, precious feedback and whole-hearted support. As a thank you gesture, we will continue to engage with the community by supporting such initiatives that lead to a better society and empowered individuals.”
Assistant Training Manager Neha Bijoor says, “With this session in office management, we hope that the ladies can find the ability to self-sustain themselves and earn their own livelihood. We wish them success in all their future endeavours and hope that our small contribution will help them create a better life for themselves.”
Since the inception of Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre in July 2011, the Hotel has been very well-received in the city and has become the preferred option for travellers, both national and international. The property has some of the most spacious hotel rooms in the city and its nine banquet halls have been venues for many high profile events including weddings, exhibitions, meetings and conferences.
