BNY Mellon celebrates 10 years of client service delivery operations from GDC India

Pune (Dec. 28, 2014): BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and investment services, is celebrating ten years of successful client service delivery operations that began with Pune global delivery centre (GDC) in December 2004, and expanded to Chennai in 2012. There is a range of activities initiated across the two centres to mark the occasion.

Celebratory evening events were held for employees over the weekend (13th/14th December) in both Pune and Chennai.  Awards were given to employees to mark outstanding achievements in community partnership, diversity and inclusion, operations, risk management, and quality. In addition, a private dinner was held for 110 employees who have been with the company since the Pune office opening to mark their own decade at BNY Mellon.

The week-long celebrations are marked by various community partnership and diversity and inclusion events for employees designed to inspire support and teamwork as well as to invest in our society. 

One major highlight on the calendar of activities is a women’s symposium entitled “Unlocking the Potential”.  BNY Mellon welcomed several guest speakers from the company’s international network including Steve Lackey, Asia-Pacific Chairman, who is based in Hong Kong, and Monique Herena, BNY Mellon’s Chief Human Resources Officer, based out of the company’s global headquarters in New York, USA.  Both are major champions of diversity and inclusion in business, and delivered inspirational talks to BNY Mellon employees and other external guests from the industry.

“Since launching our first operations centre in Pune in 2004, our team here has transformed to become an integral part of BNY Mellon’s global client service delivery infrastructure,” notes Dinesh Deo, managing director and chief executive officer of BNY Mellon’s Global Delivery Centre – Pune and Chennai.

“We have come a long way in our 10 years of client service delivery operations and we are very proud of our achievements.  This week’s celebrations are our way of saying thank you to our employees for their tremendous contribution in making our business in Pune, and now Chennai too, a success.  We've experienced substantial growth in the last decade. This is a reflection of true teamwork and the extra-ordinary dedication of our employees who demonstrate the highest standards of excellence each and every day.”

Today, BNY Mellon employs approaching 5,000 operations professionals in Pune and Chennai.  These two GDCs provide a broad range of processes for BNY Mellon’s global investment management and investment services businesses. Additionally, BNY Mellon employs nearly 6,000 information technology professionals at its wholly owned subsidiary iNautix in Chennai, and has a representative office in Mumbai.
