Café Coffee Day’s latest chai fix – ‘Matcha Frappe’ & ‘Matcha Lattea’

CCD launches two new teas infused with the goodness of Japanese green tea, matcha

Pune (Jan. 30, 2015): Introducing new and innovative items to its menu is a consistent and evolving practice at Café Coffee Day (CCD), India’s leading coffee café chain and youth brand. In line with this exercise, CCD has introduced a lip-smacking, refreshing new flavor to its range of teas, infused with the goodness of Japanese green tea, matcha - Matcha Frappe and Matcha Lattea. This launch comes in the wake of introducing exciting new offerings to enhance consumer experiences at the cafe.

Consumed in Japan for almost 900 years, matcha is 100% natural, organic green tea leaves ground down to a fine powder. Its health benefits in terms of nutritional value and antioxidant content exceed those of green tea because with matcha one ingests the whole leaf, not just the brewed water. CCD with its expertise in the art and science of brewing has introduced matcha in two flavorsome and delicious variants. Adding to its frappe range of beverages, Matcha Frappe is a creamy cold frappe laced with vanilla and blended with matcha providing the goodness of green tea with great taste. Matcha Lattea is a steaming hot tea infused with matcha and lightly flavored with vanilla for a sweet after taste.  This hot tea is sure to leave one fresh, alert and focused to take on the day ahead.

Speaking on the new launch, Bidisha Nagaraj, Group President Marketing, Coffee Day Group said, “Consumers are always looking for new and varied tastes and experiences whilst hanging out at CCD. The two new teas introduced at our cafes are catered to do just that. With Matcha Frappe and Matcha Lattea, we bring to the table two tea based beverages that are great to taste and furthermore comes with the benefits of matcha calling out to those looking for a healthy beverage option as well. The new teas with its unique taste are sure to appeal to both tea and coffee lovers alike.”

The two new teas Matcha Frappe and Matcha Lattea are available at all CCD outlets across the country and range between Rs. 70/- to Rs. 100/-.
