Journey of Colours: Exhibition of paintings and ceramic pieces from 16th 19th Jan


Pune (Jan. 14, 2014): Ashish Kate and Sujata Dharap launched their book titled “Any Colour Will Do” exclusively at a media preview today. The book is a biography of well known Artist Bal Wad.  His daughter Sujata Dharpa threw light on the artist’s  journey of his professional life and  what the book is all about.  For those who might wonder what made Sujata to co-author a book on her father’s life for them here is the answer; ‘the free flow of art’. Mr. Wad wanted to reach the minds of young artists and inspire them.  

This book has a few diary entries , which talk about their relationship as a father and guru .  The book also has small essays by a lot of people from the Wad family, students of the creative club, a teaching studio started by Bal Wad in 1981. It has several works from all periods of his life. 

This launch will be accompanied by an interesting show of about 100 paintings and ceramic pieces by the artist.  The book launch and opening is on the 16th of Jan 2015 at 6.30 pm at the Monalisa kalagram . Pingale farms . End of south main road. The show will be till the 19th jan from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm.

The book will be launched at the hands of Shri Subhash and Rajani Dandekar . And the show will open by renowned artist Shri Prabhakar Kolte. 

The Show would wave around few paintings donated by the artist which would now be temporarily borrowed from their respective owners. 3 paintings from Queen Mary’s Technical Institute for Disabled Soldiers, 4 from Pune University’s Environmental Studies Dept, and Few from Pvt. Collectors would be displayed  at the show. This shall be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Bal Wad’s fans to treat their eyes with Art and Colours.
