Best Food heightens culinary delights at the 11th ICF Chef Awards Institutes

Nov. 21, 2014: Voted and acclaimed as one of the best rice on all parameters by the Apex Body of Chefs – ICF (Indian Culinary Forum), Best Foods one of the leading rice brands in the country took a pivotal step by instituting a ‘Rise with Rice’ award at the 11th ICF Chef Awards.  The 11th ICF Awards was inaugurated by Dr.Lalit K. Panwar, Secretary, Tourism, Government of India and Mr. Amitabh Kant, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Government of India, amidst glitterati from the Food World at the Convention Hall, The Ashok today.

‘Rise with Rice’, an innovative category this year was included keeping in view the vast versatility of rice and its multifold usage. The Awards were in three categories Gold, Silver and Bronze. Renowned chef from all leading hotels experimented hugely on rice from Best Foods and came up with innovative, unique, lip-smacking delectable dishes which were judged by the Jury of ICF.

Can you imagine a chocolate pancake made from rice or a golgappa biryani? Such was the kind of innovation and experimentation at display as the Chefs truly rose to the theme of “Rise with Rice”.Creativity was at its best as rice was used most imaginatively to present out of the box dishes like rajma chawal ravioli, basmati gnocchi with avail and parde wala shehad-e-zafrani paella. Chef Anuj Verma from Le Meridian bagged the gold trophy for his delicious dish chorizo and pepperoni rice pie with honey saffron yogurt and tomato rice gazpacho while the silver and bronze went to Chef Yatim Khan and Chef Nishant (Olive Bar & Kitchen) respectively. In addition to initiating this innovative contest, Best Foods, an integrated player of rice, health and wellness products, Ready to eat meals and ready to cook pastes & sauces showcased its eclectic portfolio at the Chef Summit and Awards.
