Dr. Prakash Amte conferred with `Suryoday Manavta Sewa Samman' award

Indore (Jan. 30, 2015): Eminent social worker and reformer Dr. Prakash Amte, son of veteran social worker Baba Amte has been conferred with `Suryoday Manavta Sewa Samman' award for his distinguished services and contributions in health, social and educational sectors. The award was  conferred upon him at an august gathering in Pune by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis under the auspicious presence of noted social reformer and spiritual leader Rashtra Saint Shree Bhaiyyuji Maharaj and other distinguished luminaries including Maharashtra minister Ms Pankaja Munde, noted film director Mahesh Manjrekar, chairman, Shree Sadguru Datta Dharmik Evam Parmarthik Trust, Sharad R Pawar and Aniruddh Deshpandey among others.

Under the award, Dr Amte was presented  with a cheque of Rs 1.11 lakh and letter of appreciation. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amte said receiving such a prestigious award has further increased his responsibilities towards the society and he will  surely  shoulder these responsibilities with more promptness and sincerity.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in his address while lauding the works being carried out by Amte's organization, said that Dr Amte's struggles and sacrifices are worth emulating for others. By honouring   him with  this prestigious award, I feel like getting honoured myself, Faddnavis added.

Suryoday Manavta Sewa Samman award was instituted by Shree Sadguru Datta Dharmik Evam Parmarthik Trust in 2006 under the  inspiring guidance of spiritual leader Shree Bhaiyyuji Maharaj with a view to honouring people for their distinguished services  and contributions towards the society. De Amte is the ninth recipient of this coveted award. Last year, Suryoday Manavta Sewa Samman award had been conferred upon Dr Abhay Bang for his distinguished services in the health sector. Prominent among those who have so   far been conferred upon this prestigious award include veteran social worker Anna Hazare, eminent lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, senior journalists Dr Ved Pratap Vaidik and Prabal Pratap Singh, informed Dr Sharad R Pawar, chairman, Shree Sadguru Datta Dharmik Evam Parmarthik Trust.
