Ram Madhav has been one of key people for the BJP government. One of the most well-known faces of the party, Madhav was also given the charge of North-East states. ‘Out of 6 Northeast states, we have government in 6. We have achieved success in northeast and expect to increase our seats in the region.”
BJP General Secretary was speaking at the News18 India Baithak. He said, “We are confident that we will form government in the all the northeast states. We have taken in and have supported some good and experienced people from Congress. We have also benefited from the anti-congress feelings in the region. We would like to capture more and more seats in these states.”
On the NRC issue, Madhav said it is neither a political issue nor an election issue for BJP. “We only saw the interest of state and the nation. In this, we don’t see any political advantage. In the register in which names of 40 lakh people aren’t there, these people are not intruders or foreigners in the present day. People did not take the NRC system seriously.”
“NRC is a very complicated issue. There are as many challenges and dangers as there are advantages,” he added.
Madhav said, “Those who did not apply, their names are not in the NRC list. They will be been given a chance again. We will increase the number of foreign tribunals. Later, people can also visit the Foreign Tribunal. People are doing blame game on NRC. Why is BJP being blamed when the NRC process was started by Congress in 1951 in Assam?” he added.
BJP leader also discussed article 370 and Ram temple issue at the event. He said, “We will also discuss issues like article 370, UCC and Ram Temple. We will not leave anything. On Ram temple, we will work according to Supreme Court’s directives.”
“The direction we tried to take with Mehbooba government did not happen and that is why came out of it. For the benefit of the nation and state, we withdrew our support. If all the parties in J&K can come to an agreement, the elections can be held today. If all parties are ready, we will dissolve Vidhan Sabha. But Congress isn’t ready at this moment. Congress does not wants to form a government in the state.”
