Mumbai: The science fiction film Phuntroo has created ripples in the Marathi film circles and ended up becoming the hot subject of discussion everywhere in Bollywood as well. The love story with a difference has now acquired a different status altogether, with Eros International, a big Bollywood production house behind it as the producer, lavishly investing every rupee without cutting costs. The producers of the film have kept up the tradition of coming up with a lucid presentation with touching performances and lavish production values, along with catch and melodious music. The film Phuntroo has been talked about for the various looks in it projected by the leading lady Ketaki Mategaonkar.
The grand music launch of the science fiction film Phuntroo , produced by the dynamic brain behind the project – Krishika Lulla, under the banner Eros International and co-producer Ajay Thakur and Spice Studios, was held at the E-Square at Pune. Present on the occasion were Krishika Lulla, director Sujay Dahake, co-producers Ajay Thakur, Sandeep Sushil Sinha, the lyricists Vaibhav Joshi and Mandar Cholkar, music directors Hrishikesh Datar, Saurav Bhalerao and Jasraj Joshi, besides the main leads Ketaki Mategaonkar and Madan Deodhar and the other cast and the technical crew of the film.
Phuntroo is not just a sci fi film but is interwoven with a touching love story in the back ground. Vaibhav Joshi and Mandar Cholkar have written the songs set to music by Hrishikesh Datar, Saurav Bhalerao and Jasraj Joshi. The film boasts of four different songs in various moods. “Tee Mee…” sung by Jasraj Joshi and “Kasa Jeev Gunthala…” Hrishikesh Ranade and Ketaki Mategaonkar (both written by Mandar Cholkar) and “Alakh Niranjan Tu…” sung by Jasraj Joshi and “Ka Vatathe…” sung by Rohit Raut and Pranjali Bharve (both written by Vaibhav Joshi).
“It really does help if a love story treated differently has songs which are pleasant to hear, since it will enable you to reach a maximum number of audiences. If your story has expression in the form of songs which take forward the story, it can easily make a dent in the hearts of the audiences”, says Suhas Dahake, the director who has come up with a film with a futuristic story coupled with lilting lyrics and catchy music. Vaibhav Joshi and Mandar Cholkar have come up with rich and meaningful lyrics and the top trio of music directors Hrishikesh Datar, Saurav Bhalerrao and Jasraj Joshi have embellished them with soulful and soothing music and Phuntroo boasts of out of the box content in the form of a sci fi film combined with love story backed by excellent music.”

The story of Phuntroo is unfolded in an engineering college campus with artistes like Ketaki Mategaonkar, Madan Deodhar, Shivraj Waichal, Shivani Rangole, Ruthuraj Shinde, Anshuman Joshi, Rohit Nikam etc. Human beings have invented the technology but it is trying to control human beings unfortunately. What happens when technology is utilized more than what is needed is shown in Phuntroo. Banni Sethi has designed the costumes while Vinod Sarode has done the makeup.
