Pune: The artist community in Pune come together to celebrate and honor Earth Day at the blueFROG Pune.
Right from the time the doors open till the end of night musicians, dancers, actors and poets from all over the city will be performing at the blueFROG Pune putting up special acts dedicated to a theme that rings true for all Punekars, especially those who have grown up in the beautiful, luscious leeward side of the Sayadri Mountains.
Pune has emerged from being an environmentally blessed town with enviable climate, to a bursting metro rapidly hurtling towards indiscriminate environmental destruction in the name of development with alarming swings in climate. Thankfully it boasts of various thriving communities that fight hard for the city and that includes its rich and diverse arts community who are coming together convey the same.
Muziclub is curating the night and the Pune Poetry Club joins them in this endeavor.
The acts for the nights will include a host of musicians and bands from Alif (previously called Highway 61), Silver, Taal Inc, Prathamesh, Suraawani, Che, Vinit Arulekar, among others. There will be monologues, skits, dances all dedicated to the theme.
This whole effort has been led by Mohammad Muneem, front man of the band Alif earlier known as Highway 61, who is quite sufi in his approach to life and his music.
It is not a night to preach or sermonize, but just to give audiences a wonderful time express their gratitude and message related to the world and environment through their art.
