PARASA, Pune Automotive Racing Association and Social Activities, which is affiliated with Federation of Motor Sports Club of India (FMSCI) had organized Sinhgad hill climb racing event recently. It was the first racing event at Sinhgad after year 1996. The competition was held in Two stroke, Four stroke, Scooter Class, Open and Veteran class.
The racing event started at 8.30 a.m. from Golewadi Toll Plaza. The area for the race which was From Golewadi to Tulai Garden was 4.5 km. Bikes from 100cc to 350cc were allowed to compete. The Marshalls were appointed all over the venue to take the complete care of the participents. Two fully equiped Ambulances and medical support was arranged by Dr. Sanjay Jadhav and Vinay Yadav respectively. Fire brigade was also arranged by the organizers at the venue and on route. Pre-event scrutiny was compulsory for the participants and it was done by safty check Officer Yash Yande.
Pune’s Pinkesh Thakkar earned hat trick in the racing event. He completed the race in 4min19sec.in 2 stroke, 4min.10sec. In 4 stroke and 4min.49sec.in scooter class.
Prize distribution ceremony was held at Deccan Gymkhana Club Hall and the prizes were given away by International Rider Sanjay Takale. Participation Certificates were given to each participant and Trophy, Certificates and Cash Prizes were given to the winners in each category. President of PARASA, Preachi Shah, Chatrapati Award winner Rider Ashok Bhairavkar, Ajit Bhide and Rahul Pathak had attended the ceremony. The Racing event was organized by Former racer Reshma Lalwani.
