Washington: New U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) initiatives that directly impact small business access to financing will be the topic of the San Antonio National Small Business Week Town Hall May 6th at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) Campus. UTSA is a co-sponsor of the event and of National Small Business Week.
SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, a member of President Obama’s Cabinet, will lead the discussion on “Access to Capital: Fueling the Financial Engine of Small Business Growth” and agency initiatives to address the opportunities and challenges facing entrepreneurs. San Antonio elected officials and community leaders have been invited to participate on the Town Hall panel.
Each year since 1963, the president of the United States has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week. This year National Small Business Week will be recognized from May 4-8 with national events planned in Miami/Boca Raton, Los Angeles, San Antonio, New York and Washington, D.C.
