Juventus on the brink of defending their title
It has been a topsy turvy Serie A, and finally the Old Lady delivered when it matters the most, they pulled out victory from the jaws of defeat against a spirited Milan. They are now four points adrift from Napoli and they would not allow any slip ups from here on. Three games are remaining and a victory at home would almost seal the Scudetti for the defending champions. So they need just two wins to be guaranteed the league title.
With this home game against 12th placed Bologna and another with second to bottom Verona to come, it’s safe to assume they will be champions. Overall this will be the 34th title for the Bianconeri and 7th in the row.
Napoli, so near yet so far
This could have been Napoli’s year as they hit the purple patch in the middle of the season but inconsistency marred their chances as they gave too many points during the business end of the tournament. Losing 3-0 to a side which 30 points below on the table is inexcusable. Their destiny now lies on the results of the Old Lady, the Light Blues would be praying that Bianconeris do not win and they get a chance to close in the gap. Last time Napoli was crowned champions was in late 80’s when Maradona was in prime form, but it has been almost 30 years for them to lift the Scudetti.
