Mumbai: Veteran Makeup artist Subhash Singh, celebrated the Mahurat of his maiden Bollywood venture, an issue based movie ‘Chalk N Duster’ under the banner of his newly launched Production house – ‘3S creations’.
Also present were guest celebrities Aditya Pancholi, Sooraj Pancholi, Rajkumar Santoshi, Prakash Jha, Abbas – Mustan, Krishika Lulla and many others.
Tentitive Guests Of Honour Shah Rukh and Katrina Kaif came over to congratulate the filmmaker and wished him success.
The movie ‘Chalk N Duster’ is about teachers, the education system and profit-making of the system. The delicate handling of the issue while keeping the interest of the audience is a challenge for which a special care has been taken and the result will be for the movie patrons to decide when the movie releases.
Speaking on the occasion, Juhi Chawla one of the lead actors of the film, said “Every scene in every film always enters into someone’s past or present. With Chalk N Duster we will take you to the ones who deserve credit for what we are today – our teachers.
We were so touched by the story that we not only accepted the film, but we also said that will not charge anything for it. It will be our way of giving back something to the society.” said Juhi Chawla on behalf of herself and her Co-stars Shabana Azmi and Jackie Shroff who also said that they will not be taking anything for the movie as it is a social cause.
Subhash Singh the veteran makeup artist has been creating magic with his unrecognised talent for many decades in the film industry and is partly responsible for the success of many films and filmstars. He is one of the most respected persons in the industry and popularly called ‘Subhash Dada’.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subhash Singh who was very emotional said “I have been doing makeup of Juhi since 18 years now and I am overwhelmed by the gesture of my starcast of not charging me any money for my maiden venture and supporting me to become a producer.”
The movie is set to release in the beginning of 2016.
