The Swiggy Access will house an assortment of popular restaurants to bring consumers a larger variety of food, while enabling easier expansion for restaurant partners
Bangalore: Swiggy, India’s largest food ordering and delivery platform, today announced the launch of Swiggy Access, a strategic initiative by the company to bring great quality food closer to consumers, while enabling business expansion for its restaurant partners. Swiggy’s latest offering aims to provide consumers with the choicest food options in their neighbourhood, along with Swiggy’s seamless delivery. Swiggy Access will not only make people’s favourite meals (restaurants) available in newer areas, but also further Swiggy’s commitment to offer a superior consumer experience.
“Swiggy Access is another step towards giving our consumers what they come to Swiggy for – great variety, delivered at a lightning fast speed. Over the years, Swiggy insights have helped us understand that people from several parts of our cities long for a much better selection of food, including their favorite restaurants in their neighbourhood. With Swiggy Access, we are diversifying local palettes, bridging geographical gaps in supply and solving for variety, quality and convenience of food,” said Sriharsha Majety, CEO, Swiggy. “At the same time, it will enable our restaurant partners to expand to newer neighbourhoods and a larger consumer base, at a fraction of the expense,” he added.
The first Swiggy Access kitchen in Bengaluru’s Marathahalli area will serve signature dishes from Leon Grill, Keventers, Swiggy’s private brands House of Dabbas and The Bowl Company, and Punjabi Rasoi to consumers in the neighbourhood.
As a delivery-only branch of partner restaurants, Swiggy will be able to take its superior consumer experience a notch higher, including lightning fast deliveries and reduced wait times for consumers.
On the restaurant partner side, these ready-to-occupy kitchens will offer them a basic setup with the required amenities. No rent or deposit will be charged for the premises. Restaurant partners will also be able to leverage Swiggy insights to improve their food quality through consistent consumer feedback. Additionally, it will also help them optimize their kitchens for factors like stocks planning, demand forecasting, preparation time and order edits.
About coming on board Swiggy Access, Abdul Khadar, from Keventers said, “Swiggy Access allows us to enter a new delivery area and expand consumer base in an untapped locality by significantly reducing expenditure on infrastructure, overheads and delivery. The solid insights from Swiggy gives us confidence in the concept, that will help us both serve the fast-changing consumer preferences better.”
In keeping with Swiggy’s vision of changing the way India eats, Swiggy Access is its latest initiative to solve potential long-term gaps in restaurant supply in the most efficient manner. Over the next six months, Swiggy plans to introduce close to 40 partner restaurants to newer neighbourhoods across the country through Swiggy Access.
