New Delhi: Following India’s dismal performance at the Rio Olympics, where the country’s largest ever contingent could only bag two medals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to set a task force which will be responsible for preparing an action plan keeping the next three Olympic Games in mind.
The task force will prepare the overall strategy for sports facilities, training, selection procedure and other related matters.
Earlier, ace shooter Abhinav Bindra was named the chairman of National Rifle Association of India’s committee to review country’s shooting debacle in Rio.
If the PM’s plan for the world’s biggest sporting event are serious, Bindra’s name should be a priority while finalising the panel memebers.
