New Jersey: Telangana American Telugu association (T.A.T.A), a national non-profit organization, conducted summer food/cloth/toy drive in the United states Tristate area (PA, NJ &DE). T.A.T.A. serves to the nation and back home community by its T.A.T.A SEVA days every year from July to December. In part of the T.A.T.A. Seva days, Tri-state organized mega food drive to Beacon of Hope Inc, food pantry in New Jersey which serves thousands of homeless people in a week. Mega Food/Clothing/Toy drive was initiated by Dr. Rama Reddy Malladi, Jt. Secretary, T.A.T.A. and took it forward by the RVPs Dhanaraj Seri (NJ), Satish Mekala (NJ), Gangadhar, Prasad Kunarapu (PA), Bhaskar Pinna (DE) and Venu Enugala.
Dr. Pailla Mala Reddy, advisory committee chair of T.A.T.A and great Philanthropist in the community thanked the Telugu community for the overwhelming support. He was in conference call with the T.A.T.A crew on the day it was initiated and said “Every organization usually does the most of the food drives during the winter but recently a survey was revealed that most of the food pantries are suffering during summer with lack of food” hence try to collect the food items more so that we can relieve the pressure upon charity food pantries.
Smt. Jhansi Reddy, President of T.A.T.A expressed her sincere thanks over the phone from California to all the BODs, RVPs, SCs and RCs for doing this summer food drive. She appreciated Dr. Rama Malladi for organizing it every year 2-3 times. Mr. Mahendar Musuku, President-elect of T.A.T. A who personally attended for this event and spoke to the media. He expressed his sincere thanks to everyone who were part of this donation. He spoke to the crowd and promised to the Beacon of Home “When you have shortage of food, T.A.T.A will be there for you to supply the food. We don’t even hesitate to do more than TEN food drives if it is necessary in a year”. Charity works, serving the hunger and helping needy gives me the most happiness than anything else, he added to the crowd.
Mr. Goutham Goli, former Treasurer of T.A.T.A. who flew all the way from Atlanta to attend this Tri state food drive addressed to the attendees. He personally thanked all who participated in the event. When I receive an application from T.A.T.A. crew for requesting financial support for donation events, it’s my priority to forward the application to board ASAP. I knew the value of food and hunger. He also added, “blessed to have here today and thanked all for making him part of this great charity work.
Beacon hope Inc, New Jersey, director Darlene thanked T.A.T.A for their great generosity and for choosing to help them fight hunger in a great way. She spoke to the media and said, we have received plenty of food with Beans, Rice, potatoes, broccoli, Tomatoes, pasta, bread and varieties of proteins. They also received Bikes, beds, home furniture, clothes and toys. She said to the crowd, T.A.T.A relieved my hundred percent pressure and happily Beacon of Hope survive another six months with what they received today.
This successful event was happened in the presence of T.A.T.A crew Dhanaraj Sheri, Satish Mekala, Gangadhar, swamy Bodige, Shiva Reddy, Prasad Kunarapu, LN Reddy Donthireddy, Bhaskar Pinna, Kavitha Thatikonda, Ramana Kotha, Alekhya Indraganti, Sashi Kasira, Venu Enugala, Vamshi Gullapally and Amar Velmala.
