New Delhi: The Delhi Medical Council has raided five clinics in Dwarka and recommended action against five quacks.
Chief Medical Officer of the New Delhi District carried out the raids and a complaint against five persons – Gupta, S. Kumar and three unknown quacks – was registered last week.
Delhi Medical Council’s anti-quackery cell chairman Anil Bansal said, “A four-member team reached the office where the quacks were operating. While three managed to give us the slip, two were nabbed.
The team has issued a week’s notice to the accused and pasted it on their clinic walls. Those living in the area confirmed that the quacks were operating there for a long time.”
The quacks were found prescribing allopathic medicines. “One of the clinics run by ‘doctor’ Gupta turned out to be run by a Class XII pass. Another person was found giving anti-biotic injections and steroids,’’ said Dr. Bansal.
The quacks were found to have no degree or training of any form of Indian medicine.
