September, 26, 2018, Pune: U.S. Consul General in Mumbai Edgard D. Kagan hosted the 242 American National Day celebration in Pune. The US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster was the Guest of Honor and Minister Girish Bapat was the Chief Guest. In this event prominent Punekars interacted with U.S. Consul General in Mumbai Edgard D. Kagan and the US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster. This was the first ever time that US national Day was celebrated with Punekars.
Speaking to Punekars and US corporate representatives, the US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster said, “Our Constitutions begin with the same three words, WE THE PEOPLE”, continuing ahead he spoke of adding value to the US India relationship with Pune paying an important contribution in advancing US India relationship. He further added that Pune has deep roots in advancing the industrial and business growth between US and India. There are almost 350 US companies in Pune, he also mentioned about the cultural and educational opportunities that Pune brings to the table.
Ambassador Kenneth Juster, described Pune as a land of many cities in one. As a center of learning and a nucleus of performing arts.
Minister Girish Bapat who is the Guardian Minister for Pune expressed his thoughts about putting Pune on a growth path for advancing the US India relationship.
At the event prominent Punekars and Indo US business representatives interacted with US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster and CJ in Mumbai Edgard D. Kagan along with other officials of the diplomatic core. A Jazz band played to entertain the guests as they enjoyed the snacks.
The theme of the event was “Spirit of Innovation” between US and India. The venue was dressed up with US India Flags and Posters of different opportunities with Innovation and collaboration that existed between the US and India.

Concluding the most unique experience was to witness the National Anthem of the two democracies being played in sequence.
