Pune, 16 November 2016: On the occassion of Children’s Day, Decos facilitated a futuristic event which witnessed the Children learning about ‘Solid waste management’ through Gamification by Gamification Experts from The Netherlands. Hon. Mayor Prashant Jagtap, Joint Municipal Commissioner Mr. Suresh Jagtap, Ex-Mayor & Corporator Smt. Vaishali Bankar, Mr. Sunil Bankar – Corporator, Smt. Vasanti Kakade and from the Embassy of the Netherlands Dominique Kuhling, Deputy Head of the Mission, Mrs. Ravleen Pal – Sr. Policy Advisor Economic & Commercial Section and Mrs. Ila Singh – Sr. Policy Advisor, Political & Public Diplomacy & Culture Section were present at the event.
Mr. Suresh Jagtap enlightened the students about Solid Waste Management and he explained that small things at home will create a larger impact on the city. The facilitators Krista Hendriks from the Dutch Games Association and Ellis Bartholomeus, proprietor of Ellisinwonderland conducted a workshop where they made the children to come up with ideas on how they could communicate this information to their friends and family by using waste management games. The children came up with some very interesting and creative ideas to deliver this information to people around them and these ideas were presented at the end of the workshop and a winner was decided.
The event ended with a few words from Dominique Kuhling and Vasanti Kakade, advising students regarding their work done and that they should spread awareness about solid waste management to as many people around them as they can.
