Located Near Parliament Hill, Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Together Welcome Guests Visiting Ottawa
OTTAWA, Ontario and MCLEAN, Va. December 30, 2018 – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) announced the opening of its newest hotel, the dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa Downtown and Homewood Suites by Hilton Ottawa Downtown, bringing a unique new addition to the downtown area. The dual-brand hotel adds even more versatile options for guests visiting Ottawa, which welcomed over 11 million visitors last year—an 8.8 percent increase over the previous year*.
“Ottawa’s diverse culture and rising tourism make this the perfect location to expand our brand footprint in the Canadian market,” said Bill Duncan, global head, All Suite, and Focused Service category, Hilton. “With spacious accommodations, value-added incentives, and unique amenities, the dual-brand experience offer both focused-service and extended-stay lodging options, providing guests the flexibility to choose what’s best for their travel needs without compromising on cost.”
The property, developed and owned by Morguard Corporation, is located at 361 Queen Street and boasts 346 rooms, with 175 Hilton Garden Inn rooms and 171 Homewood Suites.
“This transformative development is a testament to Morguard’s investment in the Ottawa region and commitment to redevelop existing properties for long-term value,” said K. Rai Sahi, chairman and chief executive officer, Morguard. “We’re delighted to celebrate this opening with the team at Hilton who, from the beginning, believed in Morguard’s vision for this site and backed it with these category leading brands.”
The hotel offers guests convenient access to Parliament Hill, the Byward Market, Rideau Canal, National Arts Centre and Shaw Centre. The dual-brand concept creates larger, enhanced communal areas and amenities compared to a standard, single-brand property, benefiting both business and leisure travelers. The hotel has a mix of unique offerings – each catering to the needs of their respective guests. The property also has a variety of shared amenities including a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor saltwater pool, a business hub and Tulip Restaurant and Bar, serving three meals a day of locally-sourced, creative cuisine. Additionally, the hotel offers flexible meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 280 people.
Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa Downtown offers amenities including complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel and inviting food and beverage offerings. This includes cooked-to-order breakfast, evening room service and a comprehensive array of handcrafted cocktails**, which are complemented by small plates, dinner entrees and shareable desserts. Each guest room boasts the brand’s signature bedding, featuring fresh, white duvets and crisp linens; a spacious and clutter-free work desk with an ergonomic desk chair; and an in-room “hospitality center” with a mini fridge, microwave oven and Keurig® coffee maker.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Ottawa Downtown offers a combination of studio and one-bedroom accommodations, featuring fully-equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. Guests are also provided all the essentials needed for a smart, reliable and convenient stay including complimentary daily full hot breakfast, evening social Monday-Thursday, WiFi and a grocery shopping service.
