Chicago IL: ‘Pyar Ishq Mahobbat’ was the theme of the Valentine Party presented by Pratibha’s Bollywood Sargam at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove, IL. With red and pink heart-shaped balloons at the entrance of the banquet hall, over 300 guests gathered for a vibrant Valentine celebration.
For couples, romantics and sky-watchers, Valentine’s Day 2015 was perfect. A full moon greeted lovers and sweethearts on this special day. Saint Valentine’s Day, also known as Valentine’s Day observed on February 14 each year
It may have been bitter cold evening outside but the energy and enthusiasm of audience inside the hall was amazing. The ladies were dressed in vibrant valentine colors and the men had their formal attire to match the spirit. All the ladies were given a warm welcome by presenting a long stem Rose.
The evening started with welcome from Pratibha Jairath. She thanked Noor Tejani of Midwest Silver Club for his support and invited him to stage to say a few words.
After a bit of inter action with audience, Ms Jairath started the Musical evening with popular romantic and melodious numbers that brought everyone to dance floor with their partners. She was then joined by Raju Bankapur, a well known singer of Chicago land area. He started with ‘Chand Sifarish’ and continued to rock the party with nonstop dance medleys. Ms Jairath & Mr. Bankapur entertained the audience with Shero Shayri, jokes and presented a few duets and solos with Valentine theme such as Chali Chali Ishq di hawa chali and ‘Mausam hai Ashikana’.
The orchestra was provided by Hitesh Master on Key boards with his team Kafi Khan on electronic pads and Richard Christian on Tabla, Dholak and Octa Pad. Hitesh master also enthralled audience with some new numbers.
After sumptuous dinner, the Belly dancers took over the stage to entertain the audience. They danced on a few Bollywood numbers like ‘Baby Doll tu Sone di’ and that dance fusion was awesome.
Like all good things, the entertainment had to finally come to an end, although the audience wanted the music to go on.
Shobhana Patel, said, ”I am happy to be here on this occasion as this gives me an opportunity to impress my boy friend.” “Due to our hectic schedule, we hardly get quality time to spend with each other,” Sonia Shah , an IT Engineer from Schaumburg IL told Asian Media USA . “Valentine’s Day is a good excuse to make that time and get the romance back.”
Noordin Tejani is renovated community leader and he organized various social events for community with great success. Many members from Midwest Silver Club attended this event. Midwest Silver Club is a Social Organization organizing Social Functions with a view to Meet, Greet and Entertain and get acknowledged our culture to the next generation.
Hitesh Master, who led the orchestra, has performed with renowned music directors from Bollywood, such as Shankar Jaikishen, and visiting singers from Bollywood. Having received his Master’s degree in music from Gandharva Vidyalaya in Ahmedabad, he was Director of Music at the international school of Zambia.
Known as the Kishore Kumar of Chicago, the versatile Raju Bankapur has been performing in the United States for more than 15 years. He has sung on stage with many Bollywood singers and recently was lead male singer with the legendary Kavita Krishnamurthy when they performed for an audience of 7000 people in Florida.
Pratibha is a versatile singer who has given various stage performances. Her expression and style of singing adds to her melodious quality of voice. She Performs on Karaoke and Live Band at many events in the Chicago land area. She is one of the founding members of Chicago Indian Icon competition. Pratibha enjoys dancing & choreography, both for fun & charitable causes. She has experience of organizing over 100 Theme parties that entertain audiences with a variety of Singing, Dancing, Games and competition events. She believes in sharing and does this as a way of giving back to the society.
