Focus on women’s safety and empowerment
Mumbai, Oct, 4, 2016: The U.S. Consulate General Mumbai announces the opening of its third annual short film contest on the theme of “Women’s Safety and Empowerment.” Submissions of videos of up to five minutes in length should be submitted by the closing date of November 13, 2016. Videos can be in the form of stories, testimonials, ads, public service announcements, or any other format that promotes awareness about women’s safety. The “Women’s Safety and Empowerment” film contest is open to Indian nationals residing in the five states of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Each entry must be an original work and produced within the past two years.
The contest is part of the U.S. Consulate’s efforts to mark the international “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence” global campaign that runs from November 25 to December 10. The winners will be declared during the finale ceremony, by an esteemed jury, on December 9, 2016, in a red carpet event on the Consulate grounds.
