Patna: Ahead of Assembly elections in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday unveiled his “vision document” for the next five years if he is voted back to power.
In the seven-point agenda, the chief minister has tried to target young voters by promising free Wi-Fi on college and university campuses and a student credit card scheme to help them get loans to pursue higher and professional education.
“If given an opportunity to serve again, I will focus on youth power. It is an age of technology. We will ensure free Wi-Fi at universities and colleges. We will also introduce a student credit card scheme to facilitate bank loans up to Rs 5 lakh for Class 12 students,” said Nitish, a day after he shared the dais with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Patna to woo the voters on development plank.

Stating that Bihar is a youth-dominated state, the chief minister said that he would therefore focus on skill development training so that the youngsters could easily get jobs.
His announcement comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to set up a mega-skill university in Bihar.
The chief minister also said that youths in the age group of 20 to 25 years would be given an allowance to support themselves for finding job. “The government will register such youths and will give them Rs 1,000 per month for nine months for their job search,” said Nitish.
Five new medical colleges would also come up in the state soon, he added.
Hitting out at the Prime Minister who had called him “arrogant”, Nitish said: “I am dubbed arrogant when I tried to show mirror to the PM. I am son of a freedom fighter and full of sanskar. It is the PM who should be called arrogant for maintaining distance from media and not taking their questions.”
The CM’s vision document also promises electricity to every home, piped water supply scheme that can benefit 16 lakh families, toilet at every home and extending Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana to every habitation.
