Mumbai: The moment each one was waiting for has finally arrived. The much talked movie Kaakan was announced with its release date April 10, 2015 in Mumbai recently. Kranti Redkar who was busy shooting a period based love-story of 1970s finally unveiled its look.
Kaakan (bangle) revolves around a tragic love story of a young couple who separated due to circumstances and whether they unite at their later age of life is only for the audience to see. The movie is beautiful and balanced journey of past and present timeline majorly shot in Konkan.
In the presence of the dignitaries from the Marathi film fraternity, charismatic actor turned director unveiled the promo of Kaakan diary and launched motion poster. The teasers of the film had already created buzz amongst the people and the first look zapped the audience present. As this kind of innocent romance has not been picturised for a long time, the audience felt this unseen jodi of Jitendra Joshi and Urmila Kanetkar Kothare and the vintage feel of the film has made the audience curious. Madhavi Juvekar, Ashok Shinde, child actors Ashutosh Gaikwad and Aakash Banerjee have also given a strong power packed performance in the movie.
Adding to the fun was the announcement of the title track ‘Kaakan…’ beautifully written by Omkar Mangesh Dutt and sung by legendary singer Shankar Mahadevan and Neha Rajpal with the support of crafted music by Ajay Singha. The soothing song took each one present into a different era truly making it an apt title song.
On the occasion of announcement captain of the ship director Kranti Redkar said, “Direction has not come very sudden to me. I was always interested in the technical aspects of filmmaking. While writing this script and narrating to family, my parents insisted me to take up direction. They believed thati could give justice to this story. The entire process of film making was full of ups and downs with different challenges but my team, family and friends from the industry made it possible for me. My team has supported me at every step for which I’m really grateful to them.”
