Second Agri Udaan 3.0 roadshow to be held on 13th September 2019
Pune: a-IDEA & (National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) will organise the second roadshow of the 3rd edition of its Food and Agribusiness flagship accelerator program titledAGRI UDAAN® 3.0 in Pune on September 13th 2019.
a-IDEA, Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-NAARM launched the 3rd edition of its Food and Agribusiness flagship accelerator program titled AGRI UDAAN® 3.0 in Hyderabad on 31st August 2019. The grand launch of Agri Udaan 3.0 will be followed by 7 roadshows across the country providing the program with a pan-India presence. a-IDEA, NAARM organizing second roadshow of Agri Udaan 3.0 in the first roadshow was held in Bangalore last week. The second roadshow will be held in Pune at Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), Senapati Bapat Rd, Pune, Maharashtra. On 13th September 2019 from 2:30 PM onwards. Willing participants are welcome to register for free on the spot from 2:00 PM onwards and witness this event.
AGRI UDAAN® is a Food & Agribusiness Accelerator organized by a-IDEA, NAARM, the program focuses on catalyzing scale-up stage Food and Agribusiness startups through rigorous mentoring, industry networking and investor pitching. a-IDEA, NAARM, had launched India’s 1st Food & Agribusiness Accelerator with CIIE, IIM-A in 2015, in which 192 startups applied, out of which, 20 startups were mentored and 8 startups were supported through capacity building. Out of these 8 startups, 3 startups got funding to the tune of INR 3 crore. Further in 2017, the 2nd edition of Food and Agribusiness Accelerator “Agri Udaan 2.0” was launched with the support of Department of Science and Technology (DST), GoI in association with Caspian Impact Investments, Yes Bank, Marico Innovation Foundation, NeML among other partners. 579 startups had applied, out of which 40 startups were mentored, 10 startups cohort was shortlisted and supported further, out of which 3 startups got funding to the tune of INR 6.25 Cr.
a-IDEA (Association for Innovation Development of Entrepreneurship in Agriculture), is a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) hosted by ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (ICAR-NAARM), Hyderabad. It is a flagship Agri focused incubator launched under the Startup India initiative in 2014 and is supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. Its mission is to support powerful agribusiness and technology ventures through capacity building and facilitating access to knowledge and resources.
Agri Udaan, Food and Agribusiness Accelerator 3.0 is a six-month program in which a-IDEA conducts roadshows across the country for the first month in which the application window for startups to apply is also open. The startups are then shortlisted by three layers of screening, virtual and physical, after which the final startup cohort of startups will be finalized.
The final startup cohort will undergo 3-day capacity building workshop at a-IDEA in ICAR-NAARM campus, Hyderabad, followed by rigorous three month mentoring and networking activities supported by mentors helping them on different areas of scaling up including Marketing, Sales, R&D, Legal, Finance, IP, Technology, Investment etc. (based on the milestones set by the startups to scale up during the capacity building workshop). After undergoing three-month rigorous acceleration phase, the startups will pitch in front of numerous Institutional and Angel investors in 2 demo days scheduled in Bengaluru and Mumbai on February 2020.
Going by the achievements of a-IDEA, NAARM, and Agri Udaan in nurturing and scaling innovative Food and Agribusiness startups, Agri Udaan 3.0 promises to develop on past glory and make further inroads into boosting Indian Agriculture by way of startup innovations.
