Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has just finished shooting for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will now start shooting for Omung Kumar’s biopic on Sarabjit Singh. The film will go on floors in the end of November in Punjab and wrap up by February. It is expected to release in May 2016. This will be Aishwarya’s third film after turning mommy.
The biopic is based on Sarabjit Singh who was an Indian farmer and was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan. He was attacked by some inmates in a prison in Lahore in 2013 and he died a few days later.
Says a source, “Ash will be playing the role of Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur. Kangana Ranaut was to do the role before, when Hansal Mehta was helming the project.”
