With over 35,000 attendees, at the Akshar Pavilion TASTE OF INDIA food festival, made vendors drive back to their restaurant to provide more food!
In collaboration with Young Canadian Alliance, School of Flavours celebrated CANADA 150 on August 5, 2017 at Nathan Phillips Square, in the heart of downtown Toronto.
A day long family-friendly and a FREE outdoor event with more than 50 vendors attracted never-ending line-ups of multicultural audiences to get their lunch, snack, and dinner. Engaging entertainment on stage including Bollywood style dances, temple dances, bhangra, music, and a live DJ, truly rocked the square.
SPICES, FLAVOURS, and AROMAS from the Indian Subcontinent were in the air and everyone soaked into the culture without having to worry about getting expensive visas or the flight-tickets.
In the heart of downtown and Toronto’s signature venue, Taste of India food festival offered a unique opportunity to explore hundreds of local and Indian gourmet food recipes inspired by regions from South Asia.
“We are amazed by the response, and perhaps we need a two-day event moving forward. The community has shown tremendous support and we are thankful, ever so much,” said Ms. Rinku Shah, Founder & Director, School of Flavors.
“School of Flavours Ltd. is an institution which promotes richness of culture, tradition and heritage by connecting diverse communities together in an inclusive way to empower social and economic development of Canadians and people across the globe,” adds Ms. Rinku Shah.
Mr. Saifullah Khan inaugurated the Festival and address an educational and empowering speech about the Indian Culture and heritage.
“This festival was a super success! We ran out of food in the middle of the day and had to rush back to get more supply for the evening,” said Ms. Rashmi Gangwani from Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khazana Milton.
“Despite the gush of 30 minutes heavy rain in the morning, the spirit of vendors, performers and audiences remained passionate and determined. That’s when you see success!” exclaimed Mr. Vrajesh Shah, Founder & Executive Director of Young Canadian Alliances that focuses on youth empowerment.
“Although, I was brought on board a month before the event, we successfully executed, as we had strong team in place,” claims Mr. Tushar Unadkat, Festival Producer & Executive Director and CEO of MUKTA Advertising.
